Visit Review of the China Humanoid Ecosystem Exhibition (April 25–26, 2025)

Date

Recently, I visited the Humanoid Ecosystem Conference and Exhibition held in Shanghai, China (April 25–26, 2025) and gained various insights. Although the scale was not large, it was a valuable event to quickly grasp the latest technological trends.

1. Various Dexterous Hand Companies and Products

Companies such as OYmotion, Inspire Hand, and Brain Co showcased advanced dexterous hand technologies. These hands are equipped with sensors for object recognition and have increased degrees of freedom in the fingers, enabling more natural movements. Products ranged from lightweight hands around 300g to high-performance models exceeding 700g.

2. OYmotion’s New Product Launch News

OYmotion plans to launch a new robotic hand with built-in tactile sensors this May. They will also introduce a model that reduces weight and cost by using engineering plastic. In particular, they secured price competitiveness with a product in the 300g range priced at about 30% of the existing Ohand prosthetic hand.

3. Specialized Tactile Sensor Company

At the exhibition, there was companiy specializing in capacitor-based tactile sensors. These sensors can precisely measure distance, pressure magnitude, and direction, and are supplied to various dexterous hand companies. They attracted attention with fingertip modules with integrated tactile sensors that can be applied to products from multiple companies, including OYmotion.

4. Humanoid Robots

Several humanoid robot companies, including Unitree, participated and demonstrated walking capabilities. Some companies also showcased box-moving demonstrations for factory use. When inquiring about the price of one humanoid robot, it was around 140 million KRW, which is still relatively high. However, as more companies prepare for mass production starting this year, prices are expected to gradually become more realistic.

5. Real-Time Emotion Analysis Camera Module

Another impressive solution was a camera module capable of real-time emotion analysis for up to 20 people without additional software development. An SDK is provided, and the pricing appeared relatively reasonable.

6. Activities of Domestic Companies for Active Cooperation

It was also impressive to see domestic humanoid robot companies actively engaging with Chinese firms for collaboration. This suggests that technological exchanges and joint developments between the two countries will become increasingly active in the future.
