The stairs to your lost self. If you climb several stairs at once, you will quickly become exhausted. If you climb steadily, one stair at a time, you can reach the end without getting tired. This seems slow, but it means that you can find your lost self by walking the steps and sticking to the principles.

Research equiptments

MPULSE (2ch EMG and 1 IMU)

This product can measure electromyography (EMG) signals simultaneously at two sites and track motion at one site. It supports raw EMG measurement and provides a dedicated API.

Myoelectric prosthetic hand for research (Ohand-Direct)

This product is an AI-based EMG-powered prosthetic hand (Ohand) that provides a dedicated API for researchers. It enables the implementation of user-developed movement-intent algorithms and individual finger control.

HD EMG (BioFlex nano 32)

This product can simultaneously measure electromyography (EMG) signals at 32 sites and can be expanded up to 128 channels. With high-speed wireless technology, it supports a sampling rate of up to 4K. It uses the flexible/stretchable electrode array shown below.

Flexible/Strechable Electrode Array

This product is a flexible/stretchable electrode array with 32-channel EMG electrodes. It is used with the HD EMG system above and can also be applied to equipment such as TSMi. In addition, electrodes capable of measuring various biosignals (such as ECG) are available, and electrodes in different shapes and sizes can be manufactured (OEM/ODM available).

Wearable EEG(Sync社)

This product can measure up to 23-channel EEG and 1-channel ECG. It is equipped with a built-in IMU for motion monitoring.

EMG armband (GForcePro+)

This product consists of eight dry EMG sensors and one IMU. It supports raw EMG measurement.

Pressure biofeedback

This product consists of an air bag, a dropper, and a pressure gauge. It helps maintain proper posture by monitoring the pressure of the air bag.

This product consists of a magnetic buckle, a non-elastic belt, and an elastic belt. It can be effectively applied to various manual therapy techniques such as stretching, strength training, and spinal decompression.

ELEPHANT ROBOT

ELEPHANT ROBOT is well known for its reasonably priced educational robots. The company offers a broad lineup that includes educational models, wheel-based humanoids, and robots for imitation learning. Their products are already in use at several domestic institutions, and official sales are currently being prepared on our side as well.

HIGH TORQUE

•

As its name suggests, HIGH TORQUE specializes in motors and has developed a small, charming bipedal robot powered by its in-house motor technology. The robot is capable of moving both arms and legs.

Facial Expression Robot

•

A humanoid robot designed to mimic human-like facial expressions during conversation. Surprisingly, the expressions appeared more natural than expected.

PHYSICAL AI robot

AI2ROBOTICS

AI2ROBOTICS, a company specializing in Physical AI, showcased robots built on a wheel-based platform, combining both stability and mobility. Their demonstrations included operating a coffee machine and performing industrial tasks.

PsiBot

•

PsiBot attracted attention with a Physical AI-based robot capable of playing Mahjong. It even played live games against visitors.

KEENON

•

KEENON, best known for its service robots, has expanded into the humanoid sector.

Humanoid Robots (Part 1)

UBTECH

•

UBTECH has recently drawn attention with its humanoid robot capable of autonomously replacing its own battery. In a demo, they reportedly deployed more than ten robots in an industrial-like setting, performing tasks and swapping batteries automatically. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to witness this particular scene during my visit.

UNITREE

•

 UNITREE once again captured market attention by launching the humanoid robot R1, priced at USD 5,900. I missed their live demo, but the company prepared a wide range of performances, staying true to its reputation:

Multiple robot dogs navigating diverse environments

•

Deliberate falls, drops from heights, being kicked, and even carrying an adult rider

•

Boxing demonstrations and other high-difficulty actions

•

The technical completeness and showmanship were both highly impressive.

SPIRIT AI

•

 SPIRIT AI showcased a humanoid robot equipped with household assistance capabilities, including object recognition and classification. The demo covered a full laundry cycle—from loading clothes into the washing machine, removing them, and folding them (with some steps remote-controlled).

※ This article was not written after visiting all booths and reflects many personal perspectives. Some content may differ from actual facts, so please take it as reference only.

Overview

The enthusiasm for robotics was overwhelming. Despite the rain on opening day, visitors had to wait in line for nearly an hour just to enter. Inside, the halls were so crowded that people were practically carried along by the flow of the crowd. At popular booths, it was almost impossible to take a close look at the products.

The exhibition featured a wide range of technologies, from conventional industrial robots to the latest humanoid robots. Around 200 companies participated this year, a noticeable increase in both scale and numbers compared to last year. Humanoid robots were clearly the centerpiece. I focused mainly on partner companies and those of particular interest, but there simply wasn’t enough time to visit every booth.

Many exhibitors were busy handling interviews and large numbers of visitors, so extended conversations were rare—I often had to settle for snapping a quick photo before moving on. Some humanoid robot companies voiced concerns about the recent surge of new market entrants leading to an influx of low-quality products. They noted that the industry is currently at the “Peak of Inflated Expectations” and may soon enter the “Trough of Disillusionment.” Of course, this reflects the views of a few Chinese companies and does not necessarily capture the whole picture. Still, these companies were preparing countermeasures and steadily moving toward commercialization.

Overall, the event gave the impression that the era of Physical AI and humanoid robots has truly begun—and that China intends to lead the way. It was both inspiring and sobering at the same time.

On the opening day, despite rainy weather, long lines formed. I myself had to wait more than 40 minutes to enter.

Behind one booth, preparations for a competition using robot dogs seemed to be underway. Dozens of robot dogs and their pilots were standing by, a scene that clearly showed the passion for robotics and a solid ecosystem.

Robotic Hands and Related Parts

Last year, only about two booths showcased robotic hands. This year, there were more than 30—truly a Warring States Era of robotic hands. Reports suggest that dozens more companies are also active in this space. Here are a few that stood out:

WRC 2025 (August 8–12, 2025, Beijing) Visit Report Part 1

At the 2025 IEEE World Haptics Conference, a KAIST research team showcased a remotely operated robot. This robot utilized OYmotion’s ROHand. It not only demonstrated the ability to grasp small objects but also to grip and freely stretch an elastic band, such as a timing belt, and hook it onto a specific ring. In addition, it showed that drilling was also possible. Through these demonstrations, it is clear that ROHand is a precise, accurate, and stable robotic hand.

Recently, I visited the Humanoid Ecosystem Conference and Exhibition held in Shanghai, China (April 25–26, 2025) and gained various insights. Although the scale was not large, it was a valuable event to quickly grasp the latest technological trends.
